• Kevin Cahill became Maurice Hinchey's 1st intern in 1975
• Former Hinchey intern Kevin Cahill assumed Maurice Hinchey elected position in the NYS Assembly, in 1993, as well as assuming the chair of the NYS Environmental Conservation Committee
• Mr. Cahill's chairmanship enabled him to assume oversight of the Napanoch Project along with County Department of Health Director Dean Palin 

Mr. Cahill vacated his office Jan 1st of 1995, only later to be re elected on January 1, 1999

• ​Assemblyman Cahill was recently questioned about radioactive contaminants in the groundwater
